I've got a couple of trans-con flights this week in J and F and AA is giving me the option to preselect my meal options...I've got a couple of dietary restrictions that a dr imposed about a week ago. Looking at the options for the standard meals, I could probably eat around the problematic bits without much hassle - but since they're premium cabin trans-con tickets, I'm also being given the option to select a special meal on those sectors. If I want to do that though, I need to do it in the next 12 hours or so.

I know what the usual Y class vegetarian options are like on Qantas, but have never seen them on AA before. Are the vegetarian options in J and F roughly the equivalent of Qantas Y vegetarian? Better? Worse? I'm not actually vegetarian, but it would work regardless.

Appreciate any advice from those in the know :)
