Hi,

I was hoping to hear from experienced travellers that have travelled with SQ J class from Europe to Sydney with young children. Kindly share their thoughts on transit in Singapore Changi airport if had the choice of a 2 hour or 4 hour STOP.

Which option would be best suited to experience the SilverKris lounge, also taking into consideration travelling with 2 young children aged 8 & 5 years old.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ted

I would take the 4 hour transit - gives the children more time to unwind. A two hour transit probably only allows for 1 hour relax time between disembarking
reloading. If you have to change terminals (unlikely but happens)that could account for another 15 mins or so.Sometimes the walk in the terminal can be up to 15 mins from Lounge to gate.
It is a great Airport -The SIN Lounges are excellent so enjoy !

Hi Ted 123
I have just found this thread so sorry for the delay in replying.
I have travelled a number of times from LHR to MEL with my daughter ,now 5yrs old. Changi is a great place to stop for adults and kids. I would say the SQ lounges are the best and if you cannot find something for everyone to tuck into when hunger strikes then you must be very fussy eaters. The food is good, plentiful and excellent variety.
For the kids there is a small playground in each terminal to burn up some energy. T1 has a balinese swimming pool on the roof next to the transit hotel. From memory it is about A$15 to get into so if you don,t mind the odd wiff of avgas as you soak up the uv it would be my recommended spot, just remember the sun sets at about 6pm .All you need is your speedos in a zip lock bag in your hand baggage, they provide the towels . We usually stop for about 5-6 hrs so that we get a decent couple of hours in the pool and a good feed in the lounge before sleeping the last leg back to MEL

Hey Tiredoldflyer thank you for the reply. I guess the 4 hour transit seems like the one we will go for. I cannot wait to experience the lounges, J flight and Changi airport.

No probs I appreciate you replying and sharing your experiences. Changi does sound like a wonderful airport and wow a pool close by. That is unbelievable. My little ones aren't too bad as far as food goes . They are not fussy eaters but good to know about the variety close by. Looking forward to this trip.
