Hi all,

I was trying few recent dates for J class redemption tickets from SYD to IST. Interestingly there where J class seats available on both 380 & 777/300ER from SYD to SIN which have new flat J class seats.

Has anyone had the similar experience? Also would you think SQ will release at least redemption J class seats on these particular birds soon?

I am aware that there has been few threads about this and the conclusion
was the system mistake of Krisflyer. But this time I have a gut feeling that it isn't. Hope I'm right

Thanks all.

Are they only standard redemptions on these planes or are there some saver redemptions in business class?

If you can't find suitable SQ flights consider a *A redemption on TG.

Still not going to get you the SQ J on lie flat though.

There is good availabilty for Standard or Full redemptions.

But nil for Savers on these two planes. So if you saw some Savers I suggest you grab them quickly.

J A380 and 77Ws are always available for redemption for Krisflyer members at Standard rates or above. It is just not available at Saver redemption rates. If you do see it in Saver category, then take it straight away!

HI all

Chimpy, they were saver ones.

Also I am aware that there are not savers available on those birds but as
"lovetravellingoz" posted if find it got to grab it. Just for the sake of experiencing, got to do it.
But at the same time I think saver redemption on A380 & 77Ws are becoming abit more frequently available.

J redemption on 380 and 77W are Standard or Full only. The savers are available on 77A or older Regional Js. (Please say I am wrong... because I want J Savers on new J!!)

I wish SQ will amend that and allow Savers on 77W and 380.

I was lucky enough (in Sep/Oct) to redeem J saver on 380 due to the retirement of 744. :D

I think that SQ has a philosophical point that their 77W & 388 J product is in another league as no other *A airline is able to offer that. So they are saying, they will allow *A redemption rates on like-for-like product while they maintain their margin on the new product.

What we need is for a competitor to enter their market with a superior/competing product to force their hand.

The new J (seats only) on SQ really is comparable to F on most (if not all) of the airlines. The only competitor I can see is really the Middle Eastern airlines (such as Emirates), but their seats are not as wide or feel as luxurious as SQ's new J.

I do agree that there need to be a serious competitor to SQ's J dominance. (note: QA/BA/AA need not apply.)

As a genuine question why do you say that?

I have two. One at Xmas and one next June, but only as they were booked as 744s which SQ has changed to A380s.

On other forums I have only seen similar with a few mistake postings of the new planes that SQ did not intend.
I have not read on other forums of any regular supply, or of SQ changing their current policy.

I think SIN-IST is was on old 733s and will become 77A, and thus not 77W. 77A has the new regional J configuration.

Of course, like everyone else, I also wish that J Saver for 388 and 77W will become available someday.

Just touching back with last experiement I carried out with booking on J class.
This time tried to book flight from Sydney to Singapore flying out on either 25th or 26th Dec. and returning on 1st or 2nd of Jan. and guess what? Plenty of Saver Award (Business class) avail. on both A380 and
77Ws.
It seems that Sing.air opens seats on these lovely birds closer to date.
That's the only technique I know has worked on last few exps.
Anyone else has other ideas?

Ta.

This is so unfair.... why J Savers are available on SYD-SIN/SIN-SYD on 77W and 380... but not available on MEL-SIN/SIN-MEL route?

I did a dummy booking, and indeed J Savers are available... Seemed like SQ is show favoritism to SYD.

Just did a quick check.
It seems SQ232 on Christmas Day has had an aircraft substitution.
It shows 77W when it is usually a 73A.
That may explain the availability of J Savers.

Ah... I feel better now... Because Melbourne is always disadvantaged ;)

Still.... anyone here is with me to petition SIA to open up J/F/R Savers on 77W and 380!?

Not a chance!
With you on J & F savers.
Are you listening SQ?
Wakey wakey!

Now all they need is to continue to get the 73A for maintenance for another 2 weeks and I may be able to try 77W on my earlier booking .... Oh well I can at least dream about it!

Just booked a return ticket to Istanbul with SQ flying out from SYD on J saver.
Flying out to SIN is with A380.
SYD to IST and IST to SYD with 777-300 new regional J.
SIN to SYD with 747.

I like the variety and looking forward to A380 business class.
Would be a great comparison with EK A380 business class I flow earlier.
Will keep uz posted.
:D
