SQ sector upgrades

Hi everyone

Asking for a friend who is VA Platinum - tried to search but could not find exact answers to this request.

• SQ Premium Economy flights are booked from Australia to Europe in SQ fare bucket T Class.
• Friend has a hefty VA points balance of a few hundred thousand points and has created Krisflyer account hoping to upgrade some / all of the legs - but ultimately credit flights to Velocity.
• Saver business award seats are showing on Krisflyer website for business class for the SYD to SIN and SIN to SYD legs.

My two questions are:

1. Can you upgrade individual sectors of a Australia to Europe SQ booking e.g. SYD SIN and SIN SYD for the appropriate upgrade award levels and can this be done online.
2. After transferring Velocity points to Krisflyer at 1.55:1 can you then change the FF number in the booking back to VA to get the miles and status credits for Velocity?

I believe you can, but have to call SQ.

Yes, you can change the FF number in the SQ booking any time prior to checking in, it can't be done online but you can call SQ.
