Those protocols are consistent with what was outlined in the other thread.
The issue is SQ’s use of the seatbelt sign - getting akin to those of US airlines - and the effect on service. The seatbelt sign on, even for ‘mild’, means no hot beverages. So for a red-eye into AU you’re going to want to place your order 90+ mins before landing and *hope* there’ll be a minute or two when you can get your coffee before the crew prepare for landing. Same with wanting to use the toilet.
The (over) use of the seatbelt sign is new since the SQ321 incident.
