Has any one out there heard of the changes of aircraft web today from MEL to SIN and run. My wife and I have booked to fly out xmas day in the Suites, and if this is the case I will be jumping airlines to QANTAS.

cheers Mick

Thanks nlagalle,

Bugga I will have to ring the travel agent in the morning and if the changes have commenced I wonder if I can get a full refund and choose another carrier i.e. QANTAS. I had to strong points as why I was going with Singapore
1. A380 and being Singapore Airlines and there fantastic service, and
2. SUITE CLASS in that I paid full fare and to have the experience in Suites rather than general F

Change is effective around 15 January if I remember correctly. So you should be OK for Xmas outbound (in fact some days there have been 2 A380's operating to MEL in the lead up to Xmas although that has stopped now). If inbound flight is after that, then you may try getting them to reroute you to SYD or get to refund and move you to the 77W - not the same as suites but service still good.

Just had a quick look on their site and they appear to be flying A380 MEL-SIN. The 11am flight on XMAS day is an A380 and they are showing A380 till at least 11 Jan on return flights.
Check with yr agent, u paid for first class tix they should sort it all out for you.

I agree that going via SYD is a good option if you really want to try the suites.
Question is are you going to try the double bed suite ;)

How many forums have you joined just to ask the same questions?

Dear Chesty,

Does it really matter how many forums I ask the same question at??????. All I am doing is putting the question out there if I have not had a clear response from someone else in another forum. I apologise if this has annoyed you in any way.

cheers Mick:D

Clearly a refund will be in order. Suites are very different to F.

Will you switch to QF?

Good morning SpruceGoose,

At this stage it looks like I will, depends on what the TA comes back, I guess also my concern is that if they also change planes at the last minute, however that one could be a bit tricky I guess. I do agree even though I have never flown Suite before, there is a difference.

cheers Mick

SQTalk, Flyertalk.

I am a member of FT, AFF and other forums - I also might ask the same question on multiple forums to see what a broader range of answers might be. Not sure why this is an issue for you or worth raising.

When are you returning? Your Xmas day outbound will not be a problem, it will be operated by an A380 (unless there is some unforeseen emergency, such a plane losing part of its engine over Indonesia etc ...). But when is the return sector?

Hi Simongr,

Thanks for your support mate really appreciate it, as a new mbr like you said just want to see what the broader community might have to offer.

Don't get me wrong, I do have accounts on most major frequent flyer forums too!

As per your query Mick, I have checked Expertflyer on your behalf and found out that luckily SQ238 on 26 Dec and SQ227 on 3 Jan are still shown to be operated by an A388.

SQ238 shows availability for all window seats for suite class on 26 Dec.
SQ227 shows availability for all seats for suite class on 3 Jan.

Thanks Lowjhg,

I really appreciate your efforts on this my wife as you are aware have got 2c and 2d which is the cabin just in front of the stairs. If the aircraft is not full then I will ask to see for take off and landing that we can have the window seats

cheers Mick
