Credit Card Offers St.George Amplify Signature: 150,000 bonus Amplify Points (expires 30/4/25)

100,000 VFF for $279 is better than 50,000 VFF for $0

tell me where you can buy 50k VFF points for ~ 0.6c a point, and I am on it!

Hmm, understood. Although, the equation isn't quite that simple:

Previous offer: 50k Velocity for $0 fee and only $4000 spend.

This offer: 50k Velocity for $0 fee after $12,000 spend and then 50k Velocity for $279 after you have spent another $12,000 a year down the track

There is quite the wait for that extra 50k velocity (and a lot more spend!). A wait that may include a devaluation!!

I hate this emerging trend of making you hold the card for greater than 12 months to get the maximum bonus available.
It is kind of an obvious response though, churning is now more attractive than holding. So they need to do something to try and get people to hold, and while clearly not attractive to us, not everyone wants the hassle of churning.

I hate to say this, but given the amount of offers being run by St George/BoM/BankSA over the past 12 months, along with other card providers changes during this time, an enhancement seems it may be imminent for these cards

This has crossed my mind recently too. I hope we are wrong.

Check your balances. My 100k Amplify points arrived on Tuesday! About 6 weeks after making the $4k spend.

They gave me a full $279 annual fee refund (even though the first year was free) for messing up my supplementary card application, so this goes down as one of my best churns yet.

Cool! I just got approved last night.

well if someone cant wait, and someone qualify then its not a deal for some. doesnt make it a bad deal, the ROI is the same

50k Velocity points for $0 in the first year is still something for nothing - and well worth it if you are chasing velocity points.

Without being too specific, in a general sense, the card account and the linked rewards program account are not the same thing. That's all.

Have any Vic or SA residents, as listed in your application, successfully received the St George branded card?
I was told that if you are in Vic, it automatically gets branded as BoM.
If in SA, Bank SA.
Only St George branded if you are in NSW.
Yes, I know they are the *same* bank.

Just after personal experiences...

So income protection bill qualifies for 4k spend..... Gives me a heart attack every time I see this bill each year.... Even though packaged and commission comes back to me!

It's ambiguous.

Given I always pay my balance at the end of each statement I always write $0 for this and it has never been questioned, even though at the time of the application it may have been $10K+

That has always been my position. I consider "owing" for anything that has not been paid by the due date, same as it would be for utility bills.

Interesting that many are asked to provide bank statements. I've never had to provide one including 2 St.George cards in the past (most recent mid '18). In fact if they asked me now I'd have to say I don't have a bank account, just 6 credit cards with the savings account in my wifes name. Perhaps that would put me in the coughper for applications.

Yep ingot approved for this amplify card without providing bank statements. Only provided payslips. I already have a St George savings account though.
