I've rolled over the required rentals with Hertz to upgrade to 5*.

I note my on-line tally still sits at 5 so assuming the Hertz computer was playing games again, I sent off an email asking to confirm my tally and if over 10, to upgrade me to 5*.

Just received an email back confirming my tally is 12 but said status movement only gets assessed once per year in January. The lady went on to say she'd upgraded me to 5* as a courtesy (thank you Hertz) but it made me wonder if this is the norm for hire car mobs. Airlines and hotels seem to upgrade immediately and continue it through the next calandar year, but is that not the case with rental cars?

It's the norm for Hertz, although they used to cough in Mar, for some reason their system still gives me PC status despite having three rentals last year with them, Cest la vie.

they used to cough in Mar,

I just re-read the email and the actual words were "are not normally assessed until the following year".....

so that may actually be March. So like me, I earn 5* in Mar this year, but don't get it until Mar next year for a total of what 9 months if you don't requal? That sucks. I'm glad I sent off the email!
