Hi All,

Well the review date has just come up and I just couldn't scrape enough SC's to get retain Platinum, so Gold Status beckons.

Problem is I head off overseas on the 19th and will be flying with SQ and MI, returning on the 10th Jan. I've called Velocity and they have said that my card won't be sent for a few weeks because they wait to ensure all outstanding SC's are in the system (there's none that are outstanding). So I'll likely be away when it arrives.

The very helpful person that I spoke to on the phone said that my current card should suffice because a) it's valid for a month after the review date and b) that the SQ and MI staff should understand the rules and therefore realise that I'll be Gold anyway. I'm not sure I have that much faith in the lounge staff!!

Any advice? Has anyone else faced this dilemma? I'm thinking of getting VA to email a confirmation of my status. I know it all sounds a bit desperate but we're travelling with family and I'll need to be able to guest one of them in.

Thanks All :)

As part of the recent changes between SQ and VA - your Velocity status will now show on the boarding pass in the SQ / MI system, so they will know your current status.

Thanks for the responses - hadn't thought about status being printed on the BP and wasn't sure if that was automatic in their system or if I had to present the card first.

Cheers

Does anyone know if Virgin status shows up on Air New Zealand boarding passes?

Does anyone know if Virgin status shows up on Air New Zealand boarding passes?

Just looked at mine from a couple of weeks ago and yes it does. I couldn't tell you though if that was automatically generated out of their system or if it was because I showed them my card .....

Does anyone know if Virgin status shows up on Air New Zealand boarding passes?

Air NZ's representation confuses me a bit, it just comes up saying VA G on my boarding pass, even as platinum. No reference to the membership number either?
