As I'm trying to reach QF WP, I need to know exactly how many status credits I would get for the following routing in J class?:

QF11 Sydney 13:05 Los Angeles 09:45
QF3777 Los Angeles 13:55 Vancouver 16:55

QF3776 Vancouver 17:40 Los Angeles 20:40
QF108 Los Angeles 23:50 Sydney 08:25

The Syd-Lax legs are easy as they should be 180 SCs each leg but I'm uncertain about Lax-Yvr legs which are a code share on Alaska Airlines. The distance is 1081 miles, and I should get 60 SCs each leg if travelling in business class; the confusing scenario (for me) is that I understand that Alsaka Airlines has only First and Economy class; Would I be seated in first (not in Y) class if I have a J class ticket, and how many SCs would I actually get for each leg?
Thanks

PS: Just checked my seat allocation for Lax-Yvr vv, and I have been allocated a seat in first class;). Would I then get 90 SCs (as opposed to 60SCs) each leg ? (thinking YUP scenario here!!)

If on a business class itinerary QF will book into a business class inventory. The seating will be the same as 1st class though

Miles and SC earning will be as per business class

If it's a business fare (D, C, D , I) on the segment you'll get business SC's. FWIW, AA do not fly First class between USA and Canada.

Plug your routing into mileage monkey (MileageMonkey 0.95022), click ignore errors and off you go. Check out the SC tally under business class.

Fair enough.

Alaska Airlines do, American Airlines don't;)

Of course

Anyway, having a look I see AS, AA and QF sell F and A class on these flights, QF also sell J, C, D and I class whereas neither AS or AA do.

Irrespective of where you are sitting, it depends on each segment's specific fare bucket.

It's a corporate business fare: ICRTUQ2
So on my Lax-Yvr flight, what would it say on my BP - business or first? Currently, I've been autoallocated 3C (both ways) which is a seat in the first class cabin, I think. I was hoping that somehow it will say First class on my BP, and I would get the bonus status credits if it is credited as a first class seat as opposed to a business one...oh well, just hoping / wishing...

Assuming this is booked though Qantas; when you bring it up on www.qantas.com/yourbooking, the actual booking class will show. e.g. (I)

If it shows (I) [or J or C or D] it's likely you will earn those 60 SC's. each way.

Similarly, Qantas do not sell First Class on their AA metal codeshares for 2 class domestic USA flights, even though AA only operate First and Coach on these.

Having done this trip with Alaska Airlines - you would be in First (equivalent of J class) - though you don't earn SCs on Alaska (from memory) as it is an affiliate rather than a partner airlines. Hope I remember back to 2007 right - as can't look up past 13 months of records on own profile.

On a pure Alaska Airlines flight number, this is the case - but not if it's an AA or QF flight number (on Alaska metal).

Hey all.. thanks for the link to Mileage Monkey.. never used before.. I have Oneworld Circle Pacific trip coming up in July / August and have some questions.

Routing is PVG-ORD-LAX-SYD-HKG-FOC - J all the way. AA-QF-CX-KA Metal.

Mileage Monkey says : SC's on QP would be 240 ??

If I take the mileage/sc earn off QF SC earn table, it should be 560 ? Am I missing something ?

Also, the 10 day minimum stay, is that in each country ? ie Im having 3 weeks in US, but <1 wk in AUS

Where you put the flights was the wrong field. It's used for calculating reward points required.

Plug "PVG-ORD-LAX-SYD-HKG-FOC" into the "Oneworld Explorer Validator" field, tick "Ignore errors (for expert users!)", ensure "Earning Preference" is set to QF (it's the default, so shouldn't really need to be checked) hit "go", then review the result at the bottom of the page under "Biz".
