Hi all

I ve just got back from a trip to South America and was confused with the amount of status credit gained with my Qantas ff program.

I flew LAN, from Santiago to Lima on a Q class (which says Economy on the e-ticket) and got credited SC for a discount economy ticket.
Same happened on a flight from Sao Paulo to Santiago, again with LAN, booked in a class B (also stated as Economy), but got discount economy SC again.

I contacted Qantas as on its website they talk about getting points for Economy on classes Q, B for LAN flights but I was told that it only applies for points and not for SC.

Isn't this weird ? You get a ticket with a description of a economy fare, and coded as economy, get the points for a economy class but only get discount economy sc.

Anyone experienced similar situation ? Should I try talking to Qantas again or won't matter ?

Many thanks

This is the earning table. Unless it's some kind of condition I am unaware of, I'd ring again and refer them to their own earning table. Perhaps the table is wrong but that is hardly your problem considering it's the T&Cs of the program on their own website.

The Status Credits table refers to 'discount economy' and 'economy/premium economy' and to avoid the OP's issue I think the earning table as quoted above should also say 'discount economy' where it now says 'economy'?

Discount Economy earn is correct in terms of the SC's

This is taken from the SC page as referred to above.

For travel on oneworld Alliance airlines or Air Pacific, Economy is class Y.
