I am part way thru a DONE5, ticketed by AA. All domestic flights in the U.S. were ticketed in first class. The airline have obviously changed planes for one of my flights and the booking for this sector is now economy.

I am presuming that I will receive only the relevant status credits for an economy seat. Is there any way I can claim from QFF the status credits I originally expected? Or at the very least business status points?

Incidentally my DONE5 ticKet was purchased from AA ex Johannesburg. I saved heaps by doing this and am very grateful to danger and serfty on this forum for the helpful tips on how to purchase such a ticket. Am already planning the next DONE trip given we now have the flight back to joburg next year!

I am still a very new member and extremely impressed with how helpful fellow members are.

No I have not flown the segment yet, but am committed to the specific flights as have hotels in Asia booked etc.

The economy flight is AA3916 at 10.35AM on 5 Oct, BDL - ORD connecting to ORD-HKG-DEL. All are transits until Delhi, although we do overnight (<24 hrs) in HK.

I am in Australia at the moment, flying on points to DFW on 15 September.

I deliberately chose flights which ticketed as first class but still met our desired itinerary. It is no big deal if I only receive economy status credits this time but would like to avoid this scenario in the future.

My thinking now is to choose bigger airports in USA when possible. In this case flying to BDL saved us only a little driving time compared to flying to JFK and as on holiday time is not critical.

Thanks in anticipation

With D class non existent on that date you really have little option.

Note that if you accept the change this far it is likely it may make an ORC claim much harder.

Hopefully you have been rebooked in Y class (not L) as per the xONEx rules for AeAgle flights (AA2700-5099) which only means a loss of 60 SC's.
