Can someone help me with a query?

We are flying to NZ next month and I can't work out the Qantas information on status points.

Our flights are;

QF123 - Brisbane to Auckland - Economy (O)
JQ257 - Auckland to Christchurch - Economy (H)

JQ248 - Christchurch to Auckland - Economy (H)
QF126 - Auckland to Brisbane - Economy (O)

I am 40 SCs short of Silver at the moment and the due date is after these flights. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Nick

Have a look here:

If crediting to QFF you will earn 20 SC's for each of the QF Trans Tasman flights.

Nothing for the JQ flights.

Thanks.

I looked there before. The language they use is not as clear as it could be.

Below, under Jetstar, it says;

"Excluded: Points and Status Credits are not earned when travelling in the Economy Cabin on flights with a Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K) or Valuair (VF) flight number as part of a Qantas International fare or on Qantas codeshare flights (ie with a QF flight number) operated by Jetstar other than in Qantas Economy booking classes of B, H, K or Y."

Does not that mean, in summary;

Status Credits are not earned when travelling in the Economy Cabin on flights with a Jetstar (JQ) flight number as part of a Qantas International fare or on Qantas codeshare flights (ie with a QF flight number) operated by Jetstar other than in Qantas Economy booking classes of B, H, K or Y."

(my emphasis)

"not earned...other than"

We are on a H fare. Would not that then mean we do get status credits?

I do appreciate the response. I'm just trying to pin down the details.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

You are not booked on a QF flight number on the JQ metal (jetstar flights) I assume. If it was a QF number on the JQ metall then you would get sc for "H". Otherwise not.

It seems pretty lousy of Qantas to take my money for the booking and, because they move me to Jetstar, not give me status credits.

Last month...we flew from Amsterdam to London on BA and got status and FF credits. Jetstar belongs to Qantas and no credits. Hmmmmm

It looks like I will just make enough status credits required to get Silver with the QF legs.

Ok guys - I am confused. I have read the above quote off the QF website. It seems to me that it states that JQ domestic flights on JQ ticket get QF SC. But I am pretty sure that you don't get SC on JQ dom flight numbers. In Oz I am talking about, not NZ.

I very rarely fly JQ so sorry for the seemingly naive post.

A JQ domestic flight, booked on a JQ ticket will get the SC and points if it is booked as a JetFlex ticket. If booked as a Jetsaver, or Jetsaver Light fare, then there are no points or SC's awarded.
