Status Credit Run & Gold FF - HELP

Hi Everyone,

I am in the following situation:

30 status credits away from Gold FF to obtain by the end of July 05

1 Work trip from ADL-SYD Return in July to earn me 20 points (10 x 2)

That leaves me with 10 status credits to earn prior to the end of July.

If I book a flight for approx $97 to Melbourne that will earn me 10 status credits and Gold FF which includes Qantas Club.

My question is - do I actually have to physically check in for this flight I've booked in order to obtain the 10 status credits?

Your wisdom is appreciated.

ADL-SYD is 725 miles. That puts it in zone 2 on the SC table. That makes it worth a minimum of 15 SCs each way, making 30 SCs for the return trip.

Good spot NM :idea: , mattpearce things changed on 25th May, including getting 15 SC's each-way for this trip rather then 10.

You need to actually fly the sector to get points and SC's. Not just book or check in.

Ring Qantas and tell them you want to be gold FF, I would be very surprised if they didn't upgrade you from silver to gold. Inform them that you will be flying more later this year.

Great pickup, I had forgotten about the recent changes.

SC earning is generally one of the positive enhancements for many segments. My current trip is going to earn me 1520 SCs, but before the changes the same route would have only earned 1170 SCs. That's almost 30% more SCs for the same flights.
