Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knows any good runs for SC from any of the London airports? I'm chasing 420 to get gold before the end of april.

Status runs out of the UK are obviously not as good as the ones in the USA but they are OK.

One option could be to use points to get to BOS and then do a status run BOS-ORD-DFW-SEA return. Can be done in 3-4 days. I did some research a couple of years ago and the airfare was reasonable but not sure what the airfare is like today.

As far as Europe goes the SC earn is not fantastic but is OK if you book BA Club Europe. You will be flying mainly out of LGW and the key is to look for airports that are just over 600 miles such as PRG, CPH, BCN, OSL, ARN etc which will give you 120 SCs for return journey.

Not sure what sort of deals you can get on IB, MA or AY.

ex-LHR is pretty tricky. I did analysis of various routes last year and found most pretty mediocre.

Royal Jordanian, Finnair, Malev and Iberia have 2 hop services ex-LHR. In particular you may want to have a look at Iberia and price up various destinations in the Business cabin. There are some places that were pretty reasonable when I looked last time.

HTH. Sorry I can't be more specific, as I'm not currently tracking good fares ex-LHR.

Oh, and if seeking the 4 QF flights/year, you may find benefit in catching a train to MAN/EDI or several other UK cities and then picking up a QF codeshare back to LHR, then over to SIN/BKK etc.

You take a risk in doing so, but booking an Economy fare with BA a few weeks out and hoping to be offered a discounted upgrade to Business via MMB. You should be able to check for I inentory via EF or KVS.
