I remember a free online program that you use to help you with a status run, you inputted how many you had to get and by when and it would search the cheapest way of doing this?

Does anyone have the link handy?

Like many others my date is 31/12 and I have 40 SC to get gold, based in Syd need to work out the fastest cheapest way to get them asap!!

I think the cheapest and easiest way to get exactly 40 SC's is to fly Sydney- Canberra D class (Discount business) at $279 all in. (~$7/sc)

You'll then have to find your own way back. Got any local friends? Good at Hitchiking?

Best option I can find after that is to fly SYD - Newcastle in FlexiSaver at $339 all in return ($8.45/sc). You would have to stay overnight though...

Another option would be to fly to Brisbane via the Red-e-deal special at $89/87. 4 trips can easily be done in a very long day (2 returns @ $8.80/sc) - or to add some variety (and increase the cost a little) SYD-BNE-SYD-MEL-SYD)

The status chaser calculator you mentioned is here: http://www.harshbutfair.org/s2c2/

No worries. Good luck with it. You may not find that they'll be the cheapest ways to get the S/c's but they would be extremely close. Personally I'd fly to Canberra on the D fare and get a red-e-deal back. Saves a lot of mucking around.

One way I had to get SC's at good rates (Just over $6/sc) looks to have been tightened up recently, so I'm not impressed. Will have to find another way of breaking the $6/SC mark within Australia.

Not sure if StevePer has updated the airfares in the Status chaser calculator so they may be a few months old.

31/12. :? This date has already passed so too late to collect the 40 SC's.

Correct me if I am wrong but these fares do not come into play until the 1st of Feb. Could be too late by then.

Other option if needed by end if Jan is SYD-CNS-SYD at $384 for 40 SC's at $9.6/SC. Not a great return but OK for the purpose of collecting 40 SC's.
