Ok..first some background..

1/ My QFF membership year ends on March 31 in terms of when my status credits are reset.

ie Flights as of April 1 are a new QFF year for me.

2/ I am flying to Bali on March 30 MEL-SYD-DNS..originally booked on an el-cheapo launch deals to gain 5 tickets return for $2000 inc fuel fines and taxes. I have just upgraded these going over to take advantage ofa Starclass promo to upgrade for $200 each...so I now have gone from no earn to earning business class points and status credits.

This should be 140 points each.

3/ However as the membership year ends on March 31...I will have them...plus the other 100 I have reset to zero.....so no benefit (apart from going towards the 5000 pointLoyalty bonus which is coughulative).

4/ Jetstar does not yet show my FF details as there system does not seem to be able to cope with my having made a booking without putting them in.

Question
So..and thanks for bearing with me...my question is if I just keep my boarding passes and claim the points when I retuturn from Bali (ie after April 1....)..will the SC show in my 2007 Membership year...as I claimed the points after April 1...or will they be backdated..and so lost instantly as I was less than the 350 needed for Silver?

The reason I am asking is that with getting the 100 points in the 2007 year I may have some chance of gaining Silver as I will have several domestic flights.....and am also likely to pay for another International Flight prior to March 31 2008

In most recent cases of this, they appears as an adustment to your total lifetime SC tally. Thus they will not normally count toward your 2007 tally.

Several years ago they would have just posted into the new year. However, for the last few years they have come to understand that people were purposely delaying the claim until the new membership year (i.e. "forgetting" to add the FF number and then sending in the boarding pass a short time later when they commenced the new membership year. Since then, they generally manually post the FF points and make an adjustment to your lifetime status credits. It does not show in the new year's tally.

Having said that, the earning of FF points and SCs through JetStar International is a very new process, and it is quite possible that a 30th March flight could post after the 1st of April anyway. However, just because it gets to QF FF after the new membership year does not mean it will be reflected in the new year's tally.

This is what I get when flying National Jet or some other Qantas Link type service close to renwal.
