I need to travel to SEA in October, and the V Australia fares look fairly attractive.

The LAX - SEA leg is on AS, but they are not listed in the partner airlines on the Velocity Rewards website. MEL - LAX is 7900 miles, which is 100 miles short of earning 50 SC's. Problem is, 5001 - 8000 miles is only 25 SC's. So if you book MEL - LAX - SEA through V Australia, how would they calculate the SC earn?

This does not help your VA query, but, as a QF WP, I'd consider to travel on a separate booking from LAX on the AA codeshare in F class on AS metal (via SFO on AA Metal) and earn 150 QFF SC's for USD420 o/w (or 300 Sc's for USD833 r/t). Even better this books into Full F.

Now MEL-SEA is 8,176 miles "as the crow flies", so one would expect at least 50 for each one-way trip.

Doing the SFO-LAX-SEA F run is one of my other options I'm considering. Means I can put my domestic flights on VA to gain status with them while cementing my WP for another year.

It's a damn shame that QF don't do SFO direct anymore, I really enjoyed going there last year.

Actually, what about doing ADL-LAX on VA (100 SC's return in discount economy), then LAX-SFO-SEA on AA/AS (300 SC's return in F)?
