Ive Been browsing the Velocity website and i found this under the description of the American Express Credit Card Description:

"Earn Velocity Points (and Status Credits) on fares"

I though you could only earn status credits on virgin blue flight - Not through credit card programs.

If this is correct - can you also earn status credits through Commonwealth Award point transfers?

An award transfer is not a fare.

Earn Velocity Points (and Status Credits) on fares, plus
Earn Membership Rewards points for each dollar spent on your Card to pay for the fare.

So you get Points + SC for your fare (assuming yo do fly), plus you get MR points for the fare which you can transfer.

We haven't done the best job of explaining the double dip have we.

It should say something along the lines of:

  1. First use your Amex Card to earn Points for every dollar that you spend on your fare
  2. Second, take your flight (with Virgin/Poly/Pacific Blue) and earn Velocity Points and Status Credits for every dollar spent on your fare.
The double-dip is the result of the Amex Reward Points (which you can then transfer to Velocity) plus the Velocity Points that you earn after flying

I will let our website team know that we do need to make this a little clearer.

Hope that helps

Ricky
