Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I'm pretty new to Velocity, having previously done most of my flying with QF.

I understand that if I fly a 2-leg domestic flight (eg. Albury-Sydney-Brisbane) on the same ticket, I only get SCs as if it was one flight. However, what about a Trans-Tasman flight - for example Albury-Sydney-Auckland-Dunedin. How many SCs would that earn, as a saver fare?

Does it make a difference whether the Trans-Tasman leg is on Pacific Blue or Air New Zealand, using a DJ flight number?

Thanks

I have a similar question - I am flying Delta LHR-DTW-LAS, will the status credits apply for each sector or will they take the collective mileage and apply it based on that?

Thanks,

At least with Qantas, if the flight number changes, you get SCs for the individual flight, otherwise it is based on the whole journey. Can't speak for the other airlines however.

It makes no difference. The SC's will still be based on Albury-Dunedin.

While it's unfortunate the status credit earning is a little more restricted compared to Qantas, the number of SC's required to achieve each level is lower and easier to achieve with Velocity.

Example
It takes 250 SC's to reach Silver or 200 to retain with Virgin/Velocity whereas you need 300 to reach and 250 to maintain Silver with Qantas

Gold
500/400 Virgin
700/600 Qantas

Platinum
1000/800 Virgin
1400/1200 Qantas

So each has an advantage/disadvatage when it comes to status credits and reaching desired levels.
