I am not clear wether my one year status can increase at any time or must you wait until your present status period expires and then start another year at the higher level? Are status periods linked to your original joining date?
I can't find the answer on the QFF site.:)

IIRC when you start out as a NB then Status credit expiry date is linked to the day you joined, then when you change status levels your year is altered to reflect when you make the new level.

This is my understanding from reading whatever information can be found on QFF website.

Lets assume your QFF join date is 1-Feb; that is when your status credits are reset.

If you've made QFF Silver by say, today 29-Mar-2011; your QFF Silver status is good for the remainder of the qualification year, and the next full year i.e. till 1-Feb-2013.

Continuing on, lets say you qualified for QFF Gold by 25-Oct-2011; this status will also be good till 1-Feb-2013.

The status credits earned during this year, while attaining the aforementioned status, however, will expire when the year rolls over on 1-Feb-2012.

Example

Join 13 May 2005
Status period runs 13 May 2005 to 30 June 2006 then 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007 onwards

In the year of 30 June 2009 you earn SCs to make Gold by 31 March 2009 then you immediately become gold and will hold gold until 30 June 2010. You have until 30 June 2010 to either requalify for Gold, qualify for platinum or drop back to Silver.

Hi Realestate

If you go to "Your Summary" in QFF down to "Membership Status".

Then underlined "Status credit" line will give your status start date then your points earned so far once these points reach certain levels PS (300), PG (700) and PW (1400) your FF is that level attained (1st year)

The next line advises you how many points you need to the next level. So no you don't wait till the next year.

Hope this helps and happy flying

Helen
