Hi all,
I'm in the US at the moment and I recently hit WP. My anniversary date was the 30th Nov and I had a bit more time in the US so I was looking for ways to earn some quick SCs for my new membership year before heading home. I recently flew BOS-DFW-SAT, and the cost of an instant upgrade fare was about 2x the Y fare for 180 SCs all up, so I thought "what the hell" and took it. Now, here's where it gets sticky...
From past experience, I noticed that SCs earned on AA flights take about 24-48 hours to post. I was travelling on Nov 30th and my thinking was that my SCs would post on 1st Dec and therefore count to my new year. So far, only my BOS-DFW credits have posted but my activity statement looks like this:

My first thought was "I wonder what the hell that little symbol next to those SCs means?"

My summary shows a SC balance of 0 SCs for the new membership year. So this means my BOS-DFW credits were processed on 1st Dec, but they've been credited to my old membership year, presumably under the logic that I flew on the last day of my old membership year and that's when they should count. Now I doubt very much that QF would be willing to see it this way if the tables were turned and I wanted SCs posted for the date flown rather than the date processed if a partner airline was slow in posting them and my FF tier hung in the balance. I've looked at the T&Cs but I can't find any information on when SCs should count: day processed or day flown? Does anybody have any experience with this? The processing date on the statement is clearly 1st Dec... reckon I'll have a shot with customer service at getting them credited to my new year instead of just vaporising in that incredibly sad "Expired Status Credits" line?
