Hi all,

Sorry if this has already been raised, I did try searching but didn't have much luck.

I'm curious about Virgin's status match process. As part of it you send in the frequent flyer ID number from the other airline, as well as a photo/screenshot of the membership card.

My question is, do they then go and call/check with the other airline to confirm you are at that status level? Or could you in theory photoshop a higher status membership card?

Purely hypothetical, of course.

I cannot imagine anybody wanting to reply in the positive to a fraudulent aka illegal and improper proposition.

I would hope that they would exercise due diligence. Once found to be a fraudulent attempt, i would hope the person responsible is banned from being a member for life.

You risk losing your velocity membership blacklisted/suspended. I am sure velocity have their checks and balances in place to verify/validate information before actioning your status match request.

Also as someone already pointed out , no one here will suggest ways to achieve status by fraudulent means.

Agree.

Hopefully Virgin will wake up to you and your scamming, and confiscate all the points earned, and hence have the last laugh.
