Hi all, bit of a complicated one but how does QF define status “rollover”

Basically situation is I was at 1340 status status credits last anniversary year (ended April 30) and was 60 SC short of making platinum. I wasn’t worried however as I’m still waiting on DSC’s from 2 flights taken in late April and know that I would automatically be taken up to Platinum after those back dated credits go in.

Only issue here is that Qantas have just rolled over 250 status credits from last year does this mean that Qantas now sees my status credits from last year as 1090 instead of my 1340 as 250 have been “rolled over” to the following year? If so I will miss platinum and this so called loyalty bonus has actually made me worse off :(

Your 1340 status credits have already been earned so there will be no impact from the rollover which is just to help kick-start your new membership year.

No, you received 250 SC rollover as QF sees you as Gold and that's the rollover for Gold status. Platinum is 500. So once you get your DSC and your status updates to Platinum just call QF to fix the rollover.

I appreciate your answer and that is good to know but my question was more so around not making Platinum at all as 250 of my credits have been “rolled over” from the previous year lowering my credits to 1090 therefore when I receive my DSC from last year which is only 80 credits I will miss platinum as technically qantas will only see me as earning 1170. Or is this not actually a Status rollover but a bonus ? Does this make sense

The rollover is not a deduction of SC from previous year. Your lifetime SC total won't change, they just rollover a number of SC to start your new year.
