Hi.... Have the double status email....

I am off to Europe in May with an award booking in J .. However through about changing the outward bound business class trip via Singapore to a trip via the USA and then sticking a status run in there. I would have 160,000 points available to get me to the UK.

I can see I can get to Dallas In premium economy for 84,000 points on the 9th may.... Then woud have till 11th/12th may to get to Uk. So a few days for a status run...

Any ideas on max points etc would be much appreciated.

I currently have 220 status credits.

Thanks very much.

Going to be in Dallas from Wed 9th may to Friday 11th or can leave Saturday

As DFW is Americans largest hub then DFW isn't the best place to start a mileage run. To get the best buck for the SCs then you need to start away from a hub city and then look for cities with plenty of low fare competition, example places like Florida eg(Tampa, Orlando) but not Miami as it is a hub city for American Airlines. LAX can sometimes be a better starting point as there are long segments to Florida; eg LAX-DFW-???(Florida) or even BWI,

I guess you need to work out what level of status you want to get to. I find Qantas Gold a sweet spot if you are doing some travel but don't have the budget and or time to reach the heights of Qantas Platinum.

LAX-DFW is 120SC for AA First, and you use the American website and choose business or first.
