I am the closest I have ever been to Plat - its a hard slog when you are using your own money!

Here is the situation.

I have 835 Sc and need to reach before June this year.

I have a need to go fly BNE-ADL next Friday and I could book a J saver return for 160SC for $1260 return
Or I could book a Flexi and Upgrade using points - trying to save these for a round the world with the wife, so only if it is a deal I can't refuse. for $660 return and use points to upgrade.

Or I could go BNE-SYD-ADL or BNE-MEL-ADl and take advantage of the new SC earn on connecting flights, but oth of these options will be close to $2k for business return (does net 180 SC though.)

Any thoughts? What is the most economical way of achieving Plat?

Book some JASA flights with your points. Some good deals on ATM with VA and they earn SCs until June.

BNE to ADL is only 120 SC's.

Maybe do BNE / ADL / PER . Return PER / BNE in J using upgrade as very shortly 330 options available to BNE from PER. Use complimentry upgrade from PER if you haven't already used.

Look at OOL to MEL via ADL on a flexi for 50SC - $195
