Hi all

Hoping someone can please answer this - I have scoured the threads but could not find an answer

Qantas is offering Status support again: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/status/status-support.html

My Gold Status is currently due to expire April 2023 - I will almost certainly not retain Gold the way I am going so will look forward to the extra 12 months when they activate the extension, according to the table, in late April 2023, taking me through to April 2024.

I can see on the site that: "Qantas will rollover accrued Status Credits for eligible members up to a cap of at least 40% of the Status Credits required to retain their tier, from their eligible Membership Year to help kick-start their new Membership Year. "

But further down it says: "If Qantas extends my status as part of this change, will my Status Credits reset to zero? Yes, your annual Status Credit total will reset to zero at the end of your current Membership Year. The 12-month status extension won’t change this."

My question is, will any status credits I have earned and will earn up to April 2023 just disappear once they extend my status in late April 2023? Or will they rollover 40% of what I have accrued.?

If they reset to zero, I have no incentive to earn status credits now and I may as well burn through points. If they rollover 40% of them, then I may as well earn them as they will help me retain gold between April 2023 - April 2024

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Your SC will reset to zero, and then the rollover kick in immediatly. So you could start the year with 250SC as gold if you earn at least 250SC this current membership year. Note that last year rollover won't rollover a second time, so you need really earn those 250SC with flights green tier, and potentially other on the ground SC.

Think of it as a Double Status Credit deal granted a couple of days after your re-set.

Im racking upto 500 can I can receive the double-up (500 more)

So @ChrisMars, you have the answer I am looking for. E.g., are Green Status Credits eligible for the rollover. For example, I am measly Silver but want very much to retain it, I am also points club plus. Can you (or anyone else) please help me with the calculation/understanding of policy:

I have membership expiry April 2023
I currently have 185 SC’s of which 100 were rollover (from PCP I think)
I have just completed Green Tier for this year and am about to select whether I want SC’s or points
So I’m really confused. I will probably achieve silver this year without the rollover. The rules say that if you do achieve it under your own steam you ‘might be eligible for SC rollover’ in 2023 membership year….not sure what the ‘might’ means. I am also PCP so I think that means another 100 credit rollover. So if the ‘might’ means I am eligible would I get a rollover of 100 SC’s plus the 100PCP SC’s? What about the Green Tier SC’s?

All of this is making time think there is no point in choosing SC’s for the Green Tier reward (other than life membership which I am unlikely to ever achieve).

Can anoyone help with the multiple points of confusion on this please? In my defence I’m nursing a head cold, so am perhaps more confused than normal.

Probably all on here

If I've already retained my status, will it still be extended by 12 months?
No, if you’ve already retained your status then you’ll enjoy your current benefits for 12 months after your current Membership Year ends. The status extension is offered as support for members who aren’t able to retain in their own right. You may be eligible to receive the Status Credit Rollover to assist your future status goals.

So for silver, Max of 100 SCs rolled over but Rollover credits don’t rollover a second time

And thanks to re-reading this after AFF, the double-up WILL HELP keep Platinum til after the Adelaide J lounge opens BUT will not contribute to Lifetime Gold status. Oh, well can’t win em all

Just to clarify another point, I'm trying to figure out if the bonus status credits from the DSC (double status credits) promotions, and flight voucher promotions qualify to be rolled over as well if they were earned in this membership year? I couldn't find it on the QANTAS rollover web page.

Yes, those do rollover.
