One for the Status Guru's

Am currently overseas and will achieve WP status (finally :D) following a leg with Jetstar back into Singapore early next week.

24 hrs later I fly with JAL SIN-HND-AOJ with reverse trip 4 days later, and do the same trip again within a week.

The question is, what will be the best way for me to prove to the JAL staff that I have in fact achieved OneWorld Emerald status and take advantage of the upgraded lounge access? Has been indicated they will only allow access on presentation of QFF Card with Emerald Logo, which I won't be able to get hold of until I return back to Oz mid January. Had I been flying QF then I would have been relying on the system to show up the new status.

Looking forward to your educated advice and opinions - hopefully a previous first hand experience.

Cheers

IF/when your new status posts on the Qantas site you then print a copy of the page from your profile to show them. I have done this and used it to get into the Qantas F lounge in Sydney without issue.

Congratulations on making WP.

I hate to bring it up, but I made WP following a Jetstar Flex flight from Singapore to Sydney. It took a month following the flight before I was actually awarded the WP. And that was only after several calls to Qantas. They would always just say, Jetstar is slow, and we can't do anything until Jetstar confirms the flight. I still had the boarding passes, but that didn't make a difference. After daily calls leading up to an international flight more than a month later, Qantas gave me the WP. It was another four weeks before the confirmation came through from Jetstar and the points got sorted out.

I've got no problem with Qantas, they were great start to finish. But jetstar on the other hand...

If you are relying on Jetstar SC, then be prepared to wait. Always takes a long time, and QF will not update until posted.

If you are looking to take advantage of the JAL F lounge then you may be out of luck if you are travelling too soon after the JQ flight and that is what you need to rely on.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news- JQ points n SCs take minimum 7 days (if entered correctly in the booking)

Have a great trip

Evidence suggests that they sometimes just don't show up at all without pushing them. It's pretty poor really. Another 'inconsistency' from QF, where JQ is 'Part of the Qantas group' when and where it suits them.
