Have booked a stay using their website and am SPG Gold as a result of credit card deal.
Wondering if I should take SPG points or just quote one of my FF numbers (QF, EK, SQ)
My SPG balance is zero and I'm only staying a couple of nights so might not even reach a minimum redemption for SPG.
Any help appreciated on best use of points!
Thanks

Starwood does not earn under QFF. I take it you have registered for their double points promo, you will also get a welcome a amenity which is more points, given they have more properties about to come in line it might pay to bank them for the future, especially with the 5k top up when you convert 20k.

Thanks for the double points tip. I hadn't seen that anywhere.
I'm expecting free wifi or a welcome drink as well as 4pm checkout and room upgrade?!

Spg gold really isn't great but a bit better than it was.
You get to choose on each stay whether you get free wi fi or a free beverage or bonus points. You do though get the 4pm checkout.
Upgrades will usually be a standard room on a higher floor.occasionally you get lucky.
What SPG is great for is transferring points to airlines(QF excepted).I see you are with krisflyer-it is 1 SPG point to 1 krisflyer mile.If you can get to 20000 SPG points and transfer to an airline plan you get a 5000 mile bonus.

But remember to tell them, at check-in, that you want the 4pm check-out. Otherwise, it can be overlooked when they program the keycard.
