STN and QF's woeful booking engine

Through some kind of fluke I landed some EK F reward seats to STN, and now I'd like to get back. Thing is the QF booking engine won't search for STN and doesn't have London - all as many others do. Seemingly at random it will show flights ex STN where a flight is available from LGW or LHR, but not LCY. It can't actually be random though. Anyone know how it works? Cheers.

The QF booking engine is notoriously rubbish. The back end has all sorts of gremlins.

You may have to call - and tell them it’s not bookable online and you should be able to have the phone assistance fee waived.

If you search for a flight from another London airport, does the Qantas website show the option from STN? I have seen that EK flight appear when searching ex LGW or LHR.

Yes, it does this for JFK/LGA and HND/NRT as well.

I actually find it annoying if I search for a specific airport and it returns others near by.

QF really should introduce area search like LON or NYC or TOK for those who are willing to consider multiple airports that service a city; but also allow users to exclude them when searching a specific airport code.

I'm usually happy with an airport on the same continent - can't be too fussy these days! :D

I encountered this exact scenario recently. Wanted to look into EK F flights in or out of STN for the "Gamechanger" 777 product on that route. STN isn't recognised by the QF booking engine and I value my sanity too highly to call and subsequently be fobbed off/lied to/hung up on. Then just yesterday when looking for a different BA LHR-DXB flight I saw an EK option out of STN. No idea if it would have actually been bookable or not... 🤷‍♂️

Can confirm I booked Dubai -STN as part of a mel-sia-dubai-london trip for may next year EK F all the way. Had to do the Dubai- STN as a seperate booking as the system kept on erroring out with the dreaded call 131313 - which I was not going to do as I value my sanity too.
