This may sound bit stupid but if I make an award booking do I get any points at all ?.? When I fly,!

Depends. In general no and that has been answered a few times here. ;) The one exception that I know about is qantas and Jetstar any seat awards.

Re: Stupid question

Thanks but what is the diff between a classic and a ASA?

An ASA is an anyseat award. Read about it on qantas.com

Re: Stupid question

ASA comes with sc's. As only a leisure flier, I rely on ASA's to accumulate enough sc's to maintain my low QFF status.

When you book an award flight you have a button you can choose to have classic or asa awards shown. If you don't have to fly at a particular time you can find bargains. E.g I needed to do a last minute trip to Melboune yesterday. Economy any seat awards were over 60000 points return, but I could book business for 52000 which then gave me more points and more important 80 status credits. It seemed strange to be able to book business for less points than economy, but it does happen....

Re: Stupid question

Will I be able to do ASA Per-Sin returne using points and how many points doing a ASA in business , sorry about all the questions.

Yes you can, however the point cost varies as the price for a JASA is variable compared to a classic award.

The thread that has been alluded to has some great tips on how to reduce the point cost of an ASA.
