Hi all

I'm turning 30 in January 2014. I'm not looking forward to it at all. I very much do not want to be at home or work (MEL) on my 30th which is January 24th 2014. I'm very keen to go overseas somewhere with my partner, preferably so that I am on a plane on the 24th heading somewhere exotic and not be contactable.

SFO would be perfect destination wise, but it looks pretty cold there in Jan. Dont want to go to NYC in the freezing snow.

Europe would be similarly as cold - even the Mediterranean (Barcelona, if it was warm enough would be ideal).

Not desperate for somewhere commercial in SEA as I've been there many times although that would obviously have the best temperatures.

I have been reading up heavily on both the AA and US Air Buy Miles promotion and would happily participate in either as I would love to fly J (or F) somewhere since its a special occasion. I'm just not sure where. If I buy miles on the US Air promotion I could fly J to pretty much any of TGs destinations (do not want to holiday in Thailand!!). Will also have approx 150 - 200K Velocity points but looks like J redemption is only worthwhile to LAX. Could easily book 12 months out.

Keen for an adventure, not keen on ridiculously expensive honeymoon resorts.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Queenstown and South Island of NZ is really nice at that time of year, and not as crowded as Tasmania. Ski-ing or snowboarding in Japan or Canada?
