Has anybody had any problems with the Suncorp upgrade from a gold to platinum card? I submitted an application at the end of May and it is now mid-August!

Hi hytleung, welcome to AFF.

That's a long time! Do you know if they received your application?

I believe after 10 weeks that it time to cchase your application up.

I think before when Suncorp still owned their credit card products, the processing time will be very short, but now it owns by citi group, so you can imaginge.

Yes I've chased up by going to a branch to complain. They called suncorp direct but gave me completely the wrong information (I've verified afterwards by calling suncorp credit cards myself) saying my application was in the wrong name and that's why it took so long.

All I can say is I'm at a loss as to what is causing the delay. I've asked the staff on the phone but all they could tell me is their IT system is holding things up. I've asked for further details but none given.

Anyone can suggest a solution?

Why don't you just withdraw your application and try another supplier's credit card, there are so many in the market. I can not see any advantange or really impressive deal with Suncorp's credit cards. Even its annual fee is not cheap at all+you have to "enjoy" citi credit card call center service from now on.:(

At last the card has arrived! THis is after 3 months wait.

Lesson learnt for all those people who are thinking of entering into any contractual agreement with suncorp's products. DON'T.

Their departments don't communicate with each other. They simply don't work as one bank.

If anyone has similar of such shocking experience with suncorp REPLY to this thread and share!

I used to be their loyalty customer for 5 years when I was in Brisbane, then after I arrived in Sydney just realised it is just a local bank, after tried one year of their credit card service, I finally decided to terminate the relationship with them (they even didn't bother to ask why). So far I still can not see any competitive banking products from their side.

All the best with your Suncorp's credit card.
