SYD-AUH - VA vs EY Business Class - which is better?

Quick question - which do you think is a better choice on this route?

I prefer VA on this route, but both are good.
Plus VAs a better points and SC earn on velocity Frequent flyer.

Staying in AUH ?

Food is better on VA than EY

EY J seat is better than Virgin IMHO.

Their food is average though.

I'd probably go EY, but much of a muchness neither are superb, both are good solid offerings.

I flew EY J return to the UK in May and their food was superb - Good size meals, cooked well and very tasty.

I was no very happy with the J seat though, but that partially because I'm taller than the seat is long

I've had cough flights in both

1. VA TR here (from 2009) and here (late 2010)
2. EY TR here (from last year)

I find them very similar - I liked EY's food but hated the old 'blue' EY J seat which felt really short. VA's Row 5 is awesome if you can score it. IFE is similar, but VA doesn't have those hideous ad's you can't skip through at the beginning of every movie. Staff on VA are more playful, staff on EY are more professional. You get the bar on VA, which can help pass time on a long flight.

With most things being equal, would probably go VA then go on EY - that way you get both of both worlds.
