Howdy,

I have finally made it to WP for the first time, so please excuse this WP first timer question, am I able to access the SYD F Lounge if I’m on a QF flight number but on FJ Metal? (SYD-NAN)

The Lounge access page reads :

"….Member and 1 guest can access the lounge when travelling on a Qantas, Jetstar or oneworld flight.# Guest must be travelling with member"

"….# next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld Airline Members operated and marketed flight.Note: a oneworld marketed flight refers to a flight with a oneworld flight number, eg QF1 or AA222. A oneworld operated flight refers to the actual aircraft or 'metal' on which you fly, eg Finnair aircraft"

Does the "#" only refer to the "Oneworld" part of the rule, and that any Qantas and Jestar flight can gain access? or does it have to be Qantas or Jetstar Metal?

Thanks in advance

Correct. The # refers to oneworld only.

The QF flight number is all you need. Have a look at your new WP handbook. It's a lot clearer in there.

Just got home to my new handbook in the mail (9 days mailing time) and you're right much clearer

Thanks

If you are on FJ metal and QF flight number, your BP will print the FJ number. The QF number will show up when they swipe your BP at the FLOUNGE and you can gain entry.

If you were on FJ ticket, no admitance cough FJ not part of OW.

cheers

Handbook?

Here's an FT post earlier this year:
In the Nov 09 edition of the QF WP handbook that comes with the shiny black card, it says:

Qantas First Lounge: Access lounge when your next onward flight that day has a Qantas (14) or Jetstar (14) flight number or is a oneworld member airline marketed and operated flight (12).

Where (14) = "This includes QF or JQ marketed flights. Marketed means there must be a QF or JQ flight numbner on your ticket.

Where (12) = Benefits are available only on flights with a oneworld alliance flight number
( ... long list..) operated by by a oneworld airline. etc.

So, from the published rules, the use of QF code on EY metal is no problem for getting into the Flounge. Perhaps "Scott" should check the published rules.
