Hi all,

Looking to spend 6 months travelling next year with the family (two adults and a 2 ½yo) , most of it living in Japan. However, due to a KL stopover, dealing with a 90 day visa requirement in Japan and the timeframes involved, I'm completely stuck!

Proposed itinerary.

Sydney to Kuala Lumpur – 10/9/14
KL – Tokyo – 21/9/14
Tokyo – Okinawa – 25/9/14
Okinawa – Tokyo – 29/9/14
Tokyo – Asahikawa – 10/10/14
Asahikawa – Taipei – 16/12/14 (visa run – direct flights from Asahikawa exist, although not One World)
Taipei – Asahikawa – 24/12/14
Asahikawa – Tokyo – 10/3/15
Tokyo – Sydney – 17/3/15

Will be QF Gold by then, so definite preference for One World. Wary of arriving in Japan on any ticket that doesn't show us leaving within 90 days.

Jetstar Japan and JAL Yokoso fares are possibilities for internal travel. I've been wondering whether I can get a One World Circle Asia and South West Pacific Explorer fare to work for me? If not for all flights, then maybe for some?

While it’s some time away, I just need to be prepared to buy tickets as they become available. Otherwise I'll wait until I can book a One World fare in March next year – 1 year out (return) I guess?

So totally bamboozled. Any suggestions would be appreciated and rewarded. I’ll likely speak to a travel agent but at this point, not even sure what to ask! Last time I asked a travel agent on the best way to get to Asahikawa, they suggested I just stay in Tokyo!

Thanks,
