Hey All,

In October I travelled to Arizona to compete at the USPA National Skydiving Championships. I wasn't able to fly into Tucson/Phoenix as I had too much luggage (120kg between two of us) so drove from LAX... Flew Delta metal for the first time so thought I would share a bit of the experience.

Bits I liked:
- WIFI worked. It was faster/better than last time I tried trans pacific on United.
- Food didn't entirely suck
- Plenty comfortable for whY+
- LAX SkyClub never whinges about giving me access and the drinks/company is always good
- Delta always give you plenty of liquor when you ask for it.

Bits I didn't like:
- Friend travelling with me (and onwards to Arizona) but not on the same flight, we were denied access to the lounge. Spent $150 getting drunk in the airport. Now realise I could have gotten into the Amex lounge :(
- That's it. It was great.

I also stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Phoenix, which was really great! The bed was so comfortable after sleeping in a bunk for 2 weeks, the staff very helpful and friendly, the parking was easy, and across the road is a very nice restaurant area. We had dinner at Cucina Cucina italian which was delicious and there were fountains and fairy lights etc. Very romantic and a nice way to end the trip.

In short I recommend both DL trans pacific and the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix.
