I'm going to need to clock up some SC's to retain WP this year. I recall from AFF threads that Syd - Nadi via Melb or BNE is a good run, so am looking at taking Mrs C and baby for a 3 or 4 night break /SC run. My questions are:
Am I right that if I book any seat rewards for this flight I'll get SC's?
How do I access those award flights - I can see J class showing in classic awards but not any seat awards.
Can the premium desk book me these as a WP, or am I stuck with what i can see online?
Are there other good SC runs ex Sydney?
I probably need to head to WLG for a meeting in the next few months - would a J classic award booking net much in the way of SC's?

No SC's for classic awards, SC + Points for anyseat awards.

Regarding NAN, the best for SC is BNE-MEL-SYD-NAN...a little tough since you're travelling with family and based in SYD too...perhaps get a cheap JQ flight to BNE, then go it alone on BNE-MEL-SYD and rejoin the family for SYD-NAN...same on the way back, leave them in SYD and do SYD-MEL-BNE then BNE-SYD yourself.

Thanks, good suggestion.

From reading other threads, am I correct that will be 320 SC's in J? How many SC's would it be for a straight SYD - NAN return in J? (a lot more wife friendly)

Re the award bookings, can we book J seats via any seat awards. I cant see any.

Its broken down as:

BNE-MEL 60SCs
MEL-SYD 40 SCs
SYD-NAN 80 SCs

SYD based travellers have the LAN options for a quick SC fix - booked on the LAN global site rather than Australia.

I just looked at SYD-NAN and return for the 7th and 10th of July and there is availability.

What dates are you looking at :?: Make sure you tick the Business box where you enter your details.

Just did SC run SYD -NAN in J class
160 SC for the run.
I do like Air Pacific Jclass freindly and reasonable food plus weather in fiji was a very nice 26-30 degrees beats Sydney's bloody weather at the moment.

I was looking at travel for the last weekend of July / 1st weekend in August, so depart approx 31/7 return 2/8. I actually can fly the family in J for179,000 classic award points.
I was surprised when I looked the cost of booking a ticket, though. My memory was that others had done the whole BNE - MELB - SYD - NAN as a SC run for less than $900 - but the QF web site site is showing about $1,000 each way for a J booking SYD - NAN.

There are only limited seats on each trip, so if you dropped the numbers the price would drop, in fact if you split it into two bookings it might well be cheaper than 1 complete booking as two people could take the fare from the cheaper bucket.

That seems very expensive as I just did it this weekend SYD-NAN-SYD and total for Jclass ticket was $1200.00. I did book a month ago maybe that made a difference?

Just a busy day, some of the higher fares have less than 5 seats, go the day before and its $650 for 1, and the return date has the $650 option, I looked using 1 pax as travelling, that can have a difference
