Hello,
My first time posting here - apologies in advance if this is not the correct forum to ask this question!
I will be travelling from Sydney to Bogota via Santiago (and returning the same way) later in August.
My Sydney-Santiago legs are with Qantas (codeshare with Latam).
My Santiago-Bogota legs are with Avianca.
One PNR, one ticket issued through Qantas.
My question: at Bogota (when doing the return BOG->SCL->SYD trip), will I be able to:
a) check my bags all the way through to Sydney, and
b) get my boarding passes for both flights at Bogota itself?
My big worry is getting to Bogota airport and being told that I can only check my bags upto Santiago, and that I'll have to exit immigration there in order to get to Sydney. Each time, I have less than 2 hours in transit in Santiago, and since I'm not visiting Chile, I do not have a visa for Chile.
(I'm not so worried about the outgoing journey Syd->Scl->Bog - if they don't let me onto the SYD-SCL flight, my holiday may be in jeopardy, but at least I'll be at home!)
My travel agent has said that I should only be in transit in Santiago, but a second opinion wouldn't hurt - especially if there are other people who've done this leg already.
Thank you in advance!
