Back in February 2020 I had the privilege of flying BA from SYD to LHR via SIN on BA in their economy class - World traveller. We took the 777-300ER to SIN then switched to the A380 thru to LHR.
This post relates to the SYD-SIN vv sector in twin economy seating. Before I booked the twin seats at the back of the plane I scoured the Internet to find any info or photos of these seats. Unfortunately there wasn't really any photos but people were recommending the seats on trip adviser. So, I thought id do a quick review myself (including photos) of BA's B777-300ER twin seats at the very back.
We sat in 50A & 50B in the last row of the aircraft. There was good legroom for economy as the wall curved and gave extra space to put blankets, shoes etc. There was FULL RECLINE and the benefit with no one behind you was you could be reclined all of the flight, even meals.
There was even some room to the side of 50A, as you can see in the photos, if you had a small bag to stow.
All in all good seats. However, if you are in 50B on the aisle, there is a small locker opposite to you across the aisle that the flight crew use to store a trolley for ice etc that they will continually open and close during meal times that is quite annoying. They don't hold back either, and open and close that locker with force. Also the bulkhead behind you is only half way and on the return trip, SIN-SYD, we had a person stand at the emergency exit and lean on it for most of the flight back, as they didn't want to sit in their seat. Was also quite annoying. There is a small curtain that usually gets pulled across behind you, which is great, and was great SYD-SIN. But on the way back, the passenger who decided to stand at the emergency exit nearly ALL of the flight, pulled the curtain back and leaned there and the cabin crew didn't do much about it.
So in summary, they are good seats if no one is leaning on the bulkhead or hanging out at the emergency exit all the time. Which generally people didn't, just this one person on our way home. Next time I'd pick the twin seats in row 49A & 49B, or 49J & 49K on the right hand side of the B777-300ER, as the twin seats behind you there are crew rest seats.
Hope this helps when people are choosing seats on BA15/BA16 to/from SYD-LHR.
