I last organised a Sydney drinks / dinner in Jan 2012:p
http://www.australianfrequentflyer..../sydney-drinks-dinner-tuesday-24th-35636.html

How about another one on ANZAC DAY, Thursday 25th April 2013? same venue and format as last time? Please indicate interest, if any, below....:)

When:Thursday 25 April 2013, dinner at 630pm with drinks from 530pm onwards.
Why: why not....
Where: King Street Brewhouse.

22 The Promenade,
King Street Wharf,
Sydney NSW 2000
(Wynyard is closest train station)

Getting Here | King Street Brewhouse

I might be keen for this... have had a few very average experiences at the King Street Brewhouse though - isn't much chop in my opinion.

Anyway lets see how the interest goes with other members to see if we can get a crowd along?

Great idea.

A shame I will be off to Thailand the week before....

Food was decent, service a bit meh but still OK last time.

Menu worked for all that attended (iirc). Split bill payments was awesome.

I hate choosing locations for drinks or food for functions. It is never going to be suitable for some portion of those who attend.

Remember a meeting is about catching up with other like minded souls. Its not the price of a drink or the quality of food that makes a meeting (although both help to make it better) but rather learning new things and meeting others that share the passion.

Another AFFer and I are flying to a small island in the South Pacific the next morning ex-SYD, so we may make an appearance conditional on getting adequate sleep that night (after all, Sydney isn't Tokyo) :p

Thinking about catching up with AFF's in BNE on the 24th...... could fly down for this on the 25th and then back to CNS for work lunchtime 26th (if I can make the flights work;) )

Scratch that....

Sorry SYD - but that would require me to take a 6am Deathstar flight to make it back to work in time.... and it doesn't even leave from the Int terminal :(

Sorry KPC. If I book another "social" event before I organise a kitchen for +1, I may lose some vital anatomy....(at least I think they're vital anatomy, not sure +1 agrees ).

Bump to see if any more interest:)

I fly into SYD at 16:10 and depart to PER at 19:30. If there's only two (kpc, penegal...?) I could always guest you into the SYD J Lounge if you wanted to change the location...? Not really a serious suggestion as it is hijacking your gathering, but happy to put the thought out there.

Bump to see if any more interest:)
I know it is early but I would be keen if someone organised dinner and drinks at the Brewhouse on the Saturday of the Queens Birthday long weekend.

I'm now working on ANZAC Day as I've been sick the last couple of days, and given the (lack of) numbers, this event will be postponed to a later date.

Hope you are feeling better kpc :)

Look forward to catching up with Sydney folk another time soon.
