Might be going next June but having a quick lok its not that easy to find a reasonable One World option.

Any Sugestions

CX or QF/CX via HKG is the obvious answer, there isn't much of an alternative in terms of OneWorld unless you try JAL via a Japanese port.

Of course there is Cathay.

Although strictly not Oneworld you could go Qantas to Singapore and then Jetstar to Taiwan.

And when Malaysian Airlines join Oneworld that would be another option. Although unlikely to happen before your trip.

There is QF via BNE, operated by BR, and you'll earn SCs and points on the QF code.

Never flown Eva, so no idea what they're like.

Also just did a search for SYD-TPE, and two interesting things came up:
1) A routing on QF to Tokyo/Narita, then JAL to Taipei
2) QF to SIN then SQ to TPE (although only offered at Flexi Saver price) - surprised that the QF website will book you on to SQ. I assume you wouldn't get points for that?

QF interline with SQ to many Asian destinations, not that strange. You are correct, no points or SC on that sector though.

I am looking at doing PER-HKG-TPE in DEC. All on CX.

Add Dragonair to the mix as well.

SYD-HKG(QF/CX), HKG-TPE(KA).

I really have enjoyed the times I've been in Taiwan. Good place to visit.

BTW - if I have to go HKG-TPE, I usually use QF points. Great use of points on a fare that is usually pretty expensive.

Good tip Mal. I may look at using that in my increasingly complicated nested tickets I have going on! :-)

Sent from my Telstra iPhone using the Australian Frequent Flyer application.

I've done KIX-TPE on CX - the flight was late morning, around 3 hours. By the time you get into Taipei city from Chiang Kai Shek airport in Taoyuan, your room should be ready....

Can also be done JL, too.

FWIW, I did it as part of a PER-NRT/KIX-TPE-HKG-PER trip with the family using QFF points. Seem to recall needing to use an operator to book it as the KIX-TPE leg would not show up on line, but had no trouble getting 5 x Y seats when I did.
