Hi everyone

Have recently started reading this site:), which I have found so useful. I've started collecting my FF, but when I try to see how many I need for a trip to tokyo (NRT) I can only get the points, but not the how much the taxes will cost?

Can anyone tell me or give me an estimate?

IIRC it's about $300 one way, and about $400 for a return.

Best way to find out is just to make a dummy booking (i.e. go through the wizard, but don't confirm at the final step). Pick any days where there are available seats for the flights you want, and it'll tell you how many points and $$ you will need.

I think the award system has been 'enhanced' to not show the taxes required unless you actually have enough points to redeem.

Perhaps someone with the appropriate number of points can do a calculation...

Just played with the Award engine, for some dates in May09,

Booking one way SYD-NRT taxes are $191.64, or NRT-SYD taxes are YEN$32720 = ~AU$371

Booking in the one go, return SYD-NRT-SYD taxes are $356.45
