We usually find Qantas domestic flights pretty 'average'. Last flight Syd-Pth was unusually cold. They were handing out blankets prior to the flight but did not come down our side of the aircraft. Once airborne when the cold set in we buzzed and requested blankets- 'sorry none left, do you have a jacket you could put on'.
However Qantas redeemed itself, big time, following our arrival in Perth when we found one of our bags was missing. Luckily we have never had this experience before and this time at the end of a very long fight with waits at airports from San Francisco - Los Angles - Auckland - Sydney we were devistated. The Qantas ground staff were very efficient, took all details, assured us the bag would probably be on the next flight etc. Offered to deliver it as soon as it arrived, we laughed, as we live in country WA and no one delivers to our door. Q staff said yes they would and that evening at 2130 hours a courier phones, on a city mobile that does not get country service particularly well, to try and find and location and behold the bag was delivered to our gate (not too far to walk to collect). Okay, pity it got mislaid in the first place but exceptional delivery and follow up by phone calls by Qantas keeping us fully informed of our missing bags status. This makes up for the lack of blankets and usual very average food.
