The FR24 appreciation thread

Alternative to FR24?
I think a lot is going on out of Amberley today but as usual, nothing shows up on fr24 despite a lot of noise around the Brisbane western suburbs.
ADS app shows an RAAF Wedgetail hanging around off the sunshine coast at 31,000ft. There for a reason.

Anyone found an app that shows up military aircraft?
If you want to see the tracks of military aircraft you need to be looking at the military command and control system. 😊

Alternatively, ask Lockheed or Boeing or some other large defence contractor if they’ll sell you a JTIDS box? 🤣 Then you’d just need to get the correct crypto…

I suggest NOT asking how you buy such things online!

FR24 shows holding...

FJ923 from NAN
EK430 from DBX
QF7323 from via CNS
QF658 from ADL
VA353 from MEL
JQ754 from LST

There was a news chopper hanging around my area this afternoon, so naturally I went to FR24 to investigate.

The chopper wasn't ADS-B enabled (or was switched off), so that remains a mystery.

But I did see this King Air drawing a nice circle around BNE.

VH-IFO flying around CBD earlier today, making a perfect shape? On the third circuit, the flight diverted from it's path and went over the War Memorial, then to Lyneham, around to Mawson etc before landing at CBR. I was looking at this flight from my office - it looked like a small plane, but the icon used on FR24 is the ones used for 737/320's etc.
