The Pinot Noir & Grenache Thread

Did anyone else get onto the Craggy Lane 2012 Reserve (hidden label) from Kemenys? Was on the site for $16 whilst the 2011 is $24 (rrp $60). Just went to order another case and it has changed to $29....possibly a mistake on the original pricing? Glad I jumped on it straight away.

Nice find - I think $29 is meant to be the usual price, with the 2011 reduced from that...

Have you had Craggy Range Te Muna Road before? I haven't but am looking forward to their 2013 Aroha which I bought from Langton's with the AmEx offer :)

CR Te Muna Rd from Kemenys a few years ago was pretty good I thought. You might want to compare it to some sub-$30's Aussies like Dalrymple '15, Hoddles Creek '15, Punt Rd '15 because I definitely think it's not worth above $50.

No I haven't had the Aroha...bit on the pricey side for me. The 2012 Te Muna was lovely. Dark red, great nose of fruit and florals. Palate was rich, savoury, deep and fairly long. That is why I went back for more! At $50....meh. At $16? Bargain!

Hi Pinot lovers,

does anyone have any feedback for me on the Stonier 2015 entry level Pinot from Mornington? I can see it has a 93 from Gary Walsh but can't find much more about it.

Thanks

I was going to say that I'll taste it for you at Pinot Palooza, but then realised that Stonier won't be there :) :(

(I've only ever had their reserve and single-vineyard wines, all good)

Opened a bottle of teh 2015 Serrat Pinot over the weekend and loved it. Wishing now I'd bought more....

How was it being a VIP? Any tips for Melbourne-goers this Saturday? (Perhaps post in the pinot thread to help them?)

VIP for Pinot Palooza is definitely worth the price, especially if you're like me and don't like the crowds too much. They probably had too many people at this year's Sydney Pinot Palooza (I was told there was 200 people on the waiting list on top of the sold out event), and some vendors ran out of wine by 5 pm. Previous years vendors still had unopened bottles where they would give out randomly. The Burgundy Bar is worth trying but I would recommend hitting it early too as they also ran out in the Sydney event (even though they already restocked a second set of bottles). I didn't have any stand-out Pinot Noirs this year but I would suggest to try the Yarra Yering Pinot Shiraz blend just for something different.

I'm new here. What is CR? I don't mean Chris Ringland, I mean the discount at Dan's that many refer to, variously stated ast 7%, 8% or 10%. And how do you get it?
