The Pinot Noir & Grenache Thread

Gary Walsh has now given 94pts to the 2019 Rochford Estate, which is currently $22.80 delivered in dozens as part of their 40% off Estate wines sale that ends this Wednesday (referrals)

Similarly recently rated 94pts, but this time by Mike Bennie, is Garagiste Le Stagiaire 2018 - $24.65 @ Different Drop using HOME (price-match @ Dan's or Prince Wine Store)

CellarDoor.co currently have Seppelt Drumborg 2016/2017 for $25 until this Sunday - or $20.83 using MAYREWARD :)
Thanks QAZ got some Drumborg. My 1st post on this Pinot forum, I'm usually into other reds but getting into more "finesse" in (some of) my drinking habits. I thought going a pinot from the "Drumborg" range would be a safe bet.

Gentle Folk Single Vineyards 2019 3pk $158 delivered ($52.67/bt) @ Blackhearts & Sparrows
  • Gentle Folk Piccadilly 2019 - MB95
  • Gentle Folk Little Creek 2019 - MB94
  • Gentle Folk Scary Gully 2019 - MB94

no worries - you might also like to consider a bottle of Hoddles Creek Estate 2019 ($21.99 @ myCellars - pm me for free delivery code), which is often considered the best value pinot around

na sorry. Gamay makes some nice wines, but they can’t approach a good Pinot!

True, but hopefully the highest-ever rated Beaujolais on Winefront, and equal-highest gamay with Sorrenberg's 2017, might come close:

There’s a client that I did a cellar for, a lovely guy in the money market. I put a cooler into his cellar in his house for 3,500 bottles, and when I went back a year later to service the cooler, 90% of the wine in there was La Tâche. And when I got talking to him he says “This is only the tip of the iceberg”. He had something like another 5,000 at Wine Ark and another 15,000 off-shore. This guy would have probably the biggest single collection of La Tâche in the world.

$72 direct from winery, but 10% off on dozens including mixed cases, bringing it down to $64.80. I understand that discounts might only be available until the end of June. Their other wines are excellent also.

If anyone is interested in a bottle, or a few, let me know as I will be buying in the next week or two. I'm in Melbourne and can store wine in controlled cellar until we meet up.

$46.98 @ Auswine after 10% off New Releases in cart + extra 10% off orders of 6+ bottles with NEWCUST :)

Felton Road 2019 @ Wineaway & Prince Wine Store - apparently according to winemaker Blair Walter, potentially their best ever vintage - I thought 2017 was amazing, so 2019 could be incredible? Both had latest start to picking/harvest on 29th March

Was over at Felton Road in Feb. Nigel Greening's daughter told me not to buy too many of the 2018 and wait for the 2019 as it's better!

Those pricing for Bonnockburns on Wineaway looks pretty good!

I bought directly from the winery shipped a 15 pack over here, I paid roughly $63 a bottle for the bannockburns.

$97 for the Block 3 and $76 for cornish.

2015 Mystery 96 point Yarra Valley Pinot Noir - JH96 - $39.99/$40.99 @ My Wine Guy = https://www.mywineguy.com.au/products/2015-handpicked-highbow-hill-vineyard-pinot-noir-2015-mystery ($30 voucher)

The single-vineyards were cheaper at PWS than Wineaway - I thought that they didn't sell Block wines at cellar door, or for how long have you been on the Block List? Do those prices include shipping?

yep includes shipping from NZ. hence feels like the wineaway pricing for the bonnuckburns are good.

I bought the 2019 release online directly from the winery after the 2019 block list got released last month.

you're right, they don't typically sell block wines at cellar door, only when you buy a 15 bottles bundle from my memory.

Still not as cheap as buying direct, though the 2017 Bannockburn was available for $62 - when was the Block list realised last month and what date did you order, as obviously since then they've sold out of Block 3? Is there a minimum order for free delivery?

Also forgot to mention earlier for those who missed out that My Wine Guy now have Felton Road 2019 with only 3 or 4 bottles of Block 3 left ($30 voucher)
