There seems to be lots of Lounge threads just now, but is poor old SYD lounge discussions split over all of them?

Anyway, if this thread should be combined with another, that's fine.

I can't post pictures at the moment, but a sign is now up in the SYD lounge advising of the upgrade works and works can certainly be seen happening upstairs, but any more than that I can't say.

What I can say, is PLEASE DJ, keep the brown lounges. They're great!, They're comfy! They're usable! They're worth keeping!
Upholster them by all means (let's face it, DJ are expert at re-upholstering old cough and calling it new ) so how about it now? Let MEL and BNE keep the Jetson chairs but let SYD be comfortable.

Pleeeease :)

I agree, the lounges in the Syd are AWESOME. I'd even invest in one for the waiting area in my home studio, if I could work out where they're from.

Actually, if DJ do get rid of them, maybe they could sling one my way??

The brown lounges are comfy aren't they ;) I was in there on Monday with chrisjrn and there were some people wandering about upstairs. I'm in there often enough with anytime access so I'll see if I can get a series of progress pics happening :)

My two requests would be simple for Syd lounge:

1) train the staff to call flights properly not 30 minutes early and make sure the boards are correct

2) get better food. If I see hot dogs one more time for the fat bogans I might vomit in the servery! Healthier food pls.

I think if upstairs becomes a platinum/business lounge healthier food is certainly a must.

Not too keen on a hot dog though.

Every VA lounge I've been in has a range of fresh salads, sliced fillings for sandwiches etc.? Or are we referring to more substantial healthier food?

Hot Dogs were in Bris last night, so it was a toastie for me.
Curry is good & the first time I had the chickpea & chorizo number (in Syd?) it was excellent. (only good after that).
I'm sure there was some research into these choices, rather than it being random- interesting!

On topic, +1 for Syd furniture

I must agree that the brown lounges should stay. They are so comfy I nodded off one day, after a big boozy lunch.

I've been to Sydney dozens of times, and I can't for the life of me picture which brown lounges you are talking about. Which section are they in? The Aviation Geek in my always means I sit facing the glass window.

The more I think about it, the more I think the MEL lounge design looks great, but isn't all that comfortable or practical. But then again, I'm the sort of person who picks looks over practicality.

Ps. This thread has a long way to go, in order to catch up to the OOL Lounge thread. ;)

They used to be up there too, but I note they've got rid of them from that elevated area. They're the big long brown lounges....there's stacks of them and you could sleep on them very easily.

I agree that MEL and BNE look OK (the starkness has even grown on me), but I'd take the comfort of SYD over the looks of MEL and BNE anytime!

If your sitting at the Windows looking out to the Ramp. They are those lovely big brown lounges directly behind you... there isnt many of them left at all!

Ohhhhhhhhh, those.

They are really great for sitting around socialising or "doing group work" before everybody jets off home again.
