After several minutes of work, less than scientific research and absolutely no testing on the general public the Tony Hancock “How Loyal are you?” quiz is finally complete. (Ten key questions with multiple choice answers.)

Please answer all questions truthfully or just lie if you like. If an answer does not match exactly your own response just make something up that matches near enough. :p

The purpose of the quiz is to establish how loyal you are to your airline of choice.

When you have completed the quiz add up your score and see how loyal you are by reading the post defining loyalty by score.

Please, please, please, please don’t bother commenting about questions that should or shouldn’t be there or how the scoring should have been done etc. Just make your own quiz up instead!! :p

Add up your score and see how loyal you are!

160-200 Man alive where is your dignity? You are suffering from Frequent Flyer Stockholm Syndrome. Your capacity for withstanding enhancement takes you to levels of blind loyalty last seen at the Nuremburg Rallies in the 1930’s. Nothing is going to come between you and your favourite airline. You are the perfect customer!

120-159 Your favourite airline is not likely to lose you as a passenger anytime soon but they do need to be careful and not take too many liberties. You will certainly take a step back and have a look any negative changes to your frequent flyer program before continuing with your chosen airline.

80-119 You are either sitting in the middle ready to look elsewhere or you keep flying with your chosen airline whilst constantly complaining. Your chosen airline really needs to understand your value and decide whether to put time and effort into retaining you. You know there are alternatives out there but aren’t prepared to give everything you have earned up easily.

30-79 You are likely to move your loyalty elsewhere if your airline of choice enhances its frequent flyer program. You are likely to be on the look out for the loopholes in frequent flyer schemes and your value to an airline may be much lower than you think.

0-29 You have absolutely no loyalty and probably have little value to an airline. You will switch airlines at the slightest hint of something not working in your favour and probably switched last time because the soap in the lounge toilet was not to your liking.

I just don't know how to say this any differently - I just love Qantas :)

I got 29.5 in the quiz....

Oh and my airline of choice is not Qantas but the other one....

TonyHancock's quiz, and the underlying issue can be summed up in this recent article published by the DYKWIA Society (the audience was FFP managers, not frequent flyers)...

"By advertising a set of rewards to customers in return for specified behaviors (eg. reaching flight / spend / stay thresholds) and then rewarding them for achieving those thresholds ; you can encourage customers to keep engaging in the desired behaviors.

Conversely, removing the reward (“reinforcer”) by way of devaluing your program and removing benefits — will result in an erosion of loyalty due to customers no longer performing the behavior.

Skinner defines this process as “extinction”. In other words, when the desired behavior is no longer reinforced, the behavior will gradually stop occurring."

Pffft if only the same level of research had been put in as Griselda carried out. :p

I came out in the middle as I thought I probably would - complain about QF at times and looking round but won't do anything in a hurry as I still have a few points and am SG at present. When the situation changes it will be BFOD in J for international travel I would think. After over 20 years of QFF it will be goodbye unless the price is right as they say.
Don't think TonyHancock could cope as it will probably be no lounge for domestic flights. Could you imagine? In the with great unwashed?

75.. but I think we already knew that... and you didn't even mention the quality of the seats or availability of champagne!! :)
P.S. Love a Tony Hancock quizz :) :)
