The view from my "office"

So - the newspapers said KISS were miming. Your judgement?!
My understanding is they often pre-record the music for large events and the artists sort of 'sing along'. Remember the furore over the 2000 Olympic Games. Live can lead to a large fail.
Oh and I remember from when I was a teenager that the songs on the tv pop shows were all mimed. I remember famously when someone had a bit of a wobbly and walked off the set but his song continued. 🤣

I was a HUGE KISS fan
between 1979 and 1981
I was a HUGE Hunters and Collectors fan
between 1982 and 1994
So much wonderful music before, and wonderful music since
and I’ll be enthralled with Rachmaninov‘s Piano Concerto 3, Detroit Rock City, and True Tears of Joy.
But I do wonder at the programming of a major national event with Paul Stanley 71, Gene Simmons 74, Mark Seymour 67.
Is it celebrating nostalgia? Trying to hold onto fleeting memories? discounted agent fees?
The Australian music scene is exceedingly vibrant with wonderful artistry and composition. Let’s celebrate it!

Some photos taken from the Le Saigonnais Lounge, Ho Chi Minh.
At one stage it was raining quite heavily so some of the photos leave a bit to be desired.

Were there also lots of people here? Smell factor?
Temp?
Bookings required, I booked on Thursday. When I went through there were no walk up spaces available.

There are 131 steps down, steep and circular; and 112 steps up at the end, same type, steep and circular.

Once you're below ground it's said to be 14 degrees.

The only smell was the perspiring people from the walking.

On my “office” prior to departing Busan, a Korean dance troupe performed. They were really good. There was a flower dance, a fan dance, then the ladies playing traditional instruments. The last feature was ladies playing stands of drums. I hope I can post the video.

I could not upload the short video of the drummers. That “photo” doesn’t appear when I try to attach a file. Attaching by URL is beyond my scope!

So here is the Temple by the Sea in Busan. It was Sunday and the last day of a 4-day public holiday. Expand the photo to see the crowds! I therefore decided not to walk all the way down to the temple. Not that having to climb back up all 108 stairs influenced my decision at all! 😄

My view of the Amora in BNE (until it gets too hot and I close the blinds)shows me they're doing some kind of renos to the rooms. Two floors seem to be being worked on. At least the jack hammering at the entrance has stopped now.

and there is a lift to the top.

I actually ended up taking three trips in the lift.

I climbed the stairs and was absolutely exhausted when I got to the display level. I saw a lift and asked if it was to the roof. Got a few positive responses. The lift duly arrived, we all piled in and it went down! I'd apparently joined a small guided tour that had lift access.

I asked the guide if I could go back to the top because I'd made a mistake thinking it was going up. I was quiet, polite and must've looked very sad and exhausted. She told me to wait at the entrance to the lift while she got her next group. A couple of minutes later I was heading back to the top and then found the stairs to the top where I enjoyed the view.

I then took the lift down at the end of my visit. It was a great view from the top of the Arc de Triomphe and I would recommend it for a great view of Paris and the massive round about that circles the Arc.

I did see a couple of stupid people run across the round about. I used the tunnel underneath to get there safely.
